Ready for every single person I know to ask me how upset I am that the Pats lost.
Also ready to shrug and say, “Not particularly. I’m not on the team, I just happen to be from Boston .”

For the record, I actually do respect the run they’ve been on, and there’s no arguing that Tom Brady is the best quarterback of all time.
If I ever met him I’d say “We get it. You’re very talented. Now let someone else have a turn.”

Well, you’re from Boston, what else are people supposed to ask you about?

Yep, they’ve had a great run. As a kid, the Patriots were pretty consistently bad. Then they turned it around and were really good for the better part of two decades. I don’t feel at all bad that some other younger teams are starting to rise up and make it interesting.
It helps that football is way behind hockey and baseball in terms of sports I enjoy . But I’d also have to be a thorough Masshole to be mad that they aren’t going to the S uper Bowl yet again.
I’m ready for Brady and Belichick to retire, and for the team to build up around a new group of players. There’s no arguing that they are a phenomenal QB and coach, but nothing can last forever.

I still think Peyton was better. I mean obviously you can make a strong case for Brady, but it’s not like he won all those titles all by himself either.

For starters, they could ask me how I am able to actually make an “r” sound in conversation.
The answer, of course, being that I’ve lived in a bunch of places throughout my life, and apparently my New England accent only comes out when I am very stressed or excited.
Or they could ask me how I cope with currently living in a place with no Dunkin’ Donuts.
The answer there is that I’m diabetic and it still crushes my soul (although, I’ve heard that they opened one about 45 minutes away from me).

The real story tonight: I can’t believe DeShaun Watson avoided that sack. That was unreal. He was TOAST. But DOINK! he’s hit high and low but scrambles out and makes that dump pass for the 1st down!!

That was awesome, but I wasn't that surprised after he had that play earlier in the season where he got kicked in the eye and still finished the play.

There are places with no Dunkin Donuts?
Their donuts went to shit when they stopped making them fresh in the store. It's kind of tragic how bad they are now.

I feel an argument could be made that Montana is tight there with them. Only reason he isn't is because he didn't play for twenty years like Peyton and Brady.

I get the sense that most people feel that Brady is better than Montana in every way. It’s hard to compare across eras though, I think there’s a case to argue for someone like Unitas who’s numbers are pedestrian today, but ludicrous for his era. And who even knows what to do with still older players like YA Tittle.
For what it’s worth here’s Pro Football Reference’s Hall of Fame Monitor :
It would be interesting if football had the full range of Hall of Fame statistics you have for baseball. I’d imagine Peyton would take JAWS while Brady would be more likely to Monitor/Standards. I’d assume Peyton would have the Black Ink/Grey Ink edge, though Brady’s longer career might help him there.

Not gonna lie that's all way over my head. I am no stat head. But still really interesting to look at.

It looks like they are leaving out team achievements (super bowls, and other playoff appearances and wins), and focusing on individual achievements. I think that is the “right” approach, but obviously it’s a bit at odd with how a lot of people think. Still though, it looks like it’s doing approximately right (I’m not fan of selecting any of those modern players who aren’t in after Warner to the hall based on what they’ve done so far, but the guys who are in after them are all from earlier eras which may create a bit of a disconnect).

Back around 2014 , someone bought 12 franchises to put up in our region. I think they are just now getting put in place, and of course the furthest away one was first.

Well, don't get your hopes up for the donuts, because they ain't what they used to be. Coffee tastes the same though, near as I can tell.

That’s a bummer. But to be fair, the local Krispy Kreme is garbage here too. In fact, I think it closed. I mean, I eat like one donut every two months, so it isn’t that important.
But I did love swinging by Dunkin on my way to work years ago to get a coffee and a bagel sandwich.
